Allergy Testing =

Good News!!!!!

This morning was another Dr's appointment for my little man, another day of testing. Today Zachary had to see the allergist. He has seen him numerous times before, starting at the time he was just 2 months old. Today he had to have another skin prick test done, this time for environmental allergens instead of foods.

Zachary's test results took us all by surprise - I've never seen such a look on our allergists face (and we've been seeing him for over 4 years) First off, just to look at Zachary he just has the look of a kid with a ton of allergies, big puffy eyes, dark circles, always a runny nose, eczema. We all thought without a doubt we would find major environmental allergies happening with this child............BUT...............NOPE, NOTHING!!! Well a sycamore tree (picture included of that big bad sycamore), but that was it, nothing else, not even dust mites, molds, grass, cats, dogs -- Nada! If any of you know his big sister, Zoe, you would know the kid has major environmental allergies the strangest of her allergies being to a cockroach - but anything else you name she is allergic to as well. Just goes to show you really can't compare your kids in any way ;-)

WOW I'm so taken back! It really is a good thing!!!!

Yippee for today's allergy test!!!!

Have you had him tested for heavy metals yet? Aluminum, lead, mercury, and there are some others. There is a mom on the ASD board in babycenter who has a whole list of heavy metals. Might be worth looking into.
I'll also tell you that gluten and casein can play havok on the gut. Because the body can't process the break down of both, it causes an opiate type reaction (like the drug). Once these are eliminated and the yeast in the gut is controlled, some parents see a vast improvement. Also something to think about.

Wow...another peice of the puzzle to chunk out the door and say...nope, not that!
Awesome that he isn't allergic to environmental stuff....gosh...I remember how Zoe used to break out just playing in the grass!
How strange though...did the doc give you any ideas for other stuff? Especially bec of the allergy shiners, etc that you mentioned.
